Metastatic disease to the liver from colorectal cancer constitutes the highest volume of Dr. McCain liver resection volume. Patients generally stay only 1 to 2 days post liver resection in the hospital. For patients with less aggressive tumors that only require microwave ablation same-day laparoscopic surgery is available. Intraoperative ultrasound is used to evaluate the liver carefully at the time of surgery due to smaller tumors that may not have been seen on preoperative CT / MRI / PET scans and in guiding surgical margins.

We have a high volume of patients and use short operative times with reduced blood loss for good long-term survival.
